The Cairn

This small-medium-sized cairn measures some forty-five to fifty-three feet across, and now stands a mere five feet or so high, although it now sports a small modern "cairn" on its summit, which is presumably constructed of the scattered remains of the original cairn stones. On the West side of the cairn is an exposed area in which it is possible to see the material construction of the cairn:

The cairn commands a far-reaching view across the Almond strath to the North, across to Cairnpapple in the West and Arthur's Seat in the East. To the immediate South lie the cairns at the summits of the East Cairn and West Cairn hills.
