Few books today are forgivable

CyberScotia Books is a free online library of texts relating in various ways to Scottish and Celtic cultural history. A broad field of provenance is represented, with the collection ranging from the canonic to the wilfully obscure. Some of the collection's items are unique, while others that are also available elsewhere nonetheless received their first digital publication here. Indeed, the core agenda of CyberScotia Books has always been to provide reliable editions of texts that are otherwise unavailable, if only at the time of publication.

In common with other online archives, CyberScotia Books publishes reprints and facsimiles of extant print editions. However, it also offers entirely new editions of, for example, medieval texts transcribed directly from manuscript sources, often including editorial notes as well as critical readers drawn from the established canon. Please note that Copyright Law applies with particular force to these original editions.

In some cases you will find listed items published on their own dedicated websites, rather than within the CyberScotia Books site-structure itself. Current examples include a stand-alone collection titled The Complete Tannahill, and the official online edition of John Garth Wilkinson's West Lothian Place Names. A major new collection devoted to Llyfr Aneirin ("The Book of Aneirin"), including its publication history and critical heritage is currently in preparation. Applications from original authors are welcome, although resources are limited and the project is entirely non-commercial.

NB: In a previous incarnation, CyberScotia Books was known as "Ogmios Press", established in 2000. Unfortunately, due to life's unavoidable distractions, the re-formatting of older collection items is still an ongoing process. As a result, you may find some archaic anomalies lurking in the corners. Hopefully, all remaining updates will be completed in the near future. In the meantime, please accept all due apologies.
